Mesmo Founder, Olajide Ijadare, Honored with 'Outstanding Agri-Preneur of the Year Award' at ABAEX 2019

In a remarkable recognition of his exceptional contributions to the agricultural sector, Major Ijadare, Founder and President of Mesmo Africa Limited, was bestowed with the "Outstanding Agri-preneur of the Year Award" during the Grand Final of the Afe Babalola Agricultural Exposition 2019 (ABAEX 2019).

ABAEX 2019, an annual agricultural exposition championed by Aare Afe Babalola, serves as a vital platform aimed at fostering agricultural innovation and development within Ekiti State. The exposition brings together farmers, agribusinesses, policymakers, researchers, and other stakeholders to showcase the latest advancements in agriculture, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for collaboration. Through workshops, seminars, exhibitions, and networking sessions, ABAEX 2019 plays a pivotal role in promoting sustainable agricultural practices, enhancing productivity, and driving economic growth in the region.

As a passionate farmer and entrepreneur with extensive experience in mechanized farming and farm produce processing, Major Ijadare, a retired U.S. Army Officer from Ijan-Ekiti, returned to Nigeria to invest in and contribute to the economic development and agricultural advancements of the country. He established MESMO Africa Ltd. (MAL), headquartered in Ijan Ekiti, Ekiti State. Mesmo is an agro-industrial and edible oil refinery-fractionation factory aimed at becoming a leading agro-allied company. Its operations include large-scale oil palm cultivation, edible oil processing, and merchandising in national and international markets.

During the Afe Babalola Agricultural Exposition 2019, Aare Afe Babalola, while inspecting various agricultural produce, expressed surprise at the palm oil derivatives produced by Mesmo Africa Limited, including Palm Olein, Stearin, Mid Fraction, and Soapstock. He commended the company, stating, "You have done well. I'm impressed with this development in Ekiti, and I promise to visit your factory anytime soon."

In his acceptance speech, Major Ijadare expressed appreciation for the support of Aare Afe Babalola to Ekiti farmers and his belief in the development of Ekiti State. He also urged the government to prioritize the welfare of the people, especially farmers.

The recognition of Major Ijadare as the 'Outstanding Agri-preneur of the Year' underscores his remarkable achievements and pioneering efforts in transforming Nigeria's agricultural sector, marking a significant milestone in the journey towards agricultural excellence and economic prosperity.
